The Unfolding Beauty of Spring

One of the things I enjoy about spring is how it arrives slowly and changes often. Even with the mild winters of North Carolina, I’m delighted to notice tiny buds and sprinkles of green as new leaves start to appear. Wildflower blossoms arrive as if scattered like confetti.

Birdsong fills the air

Spring green leaves, soft to the touch

Buds become blossoms

Beautiful blue skies provide a striking contrast to redbuds, dogwoods, and magnolias in bloom.

Azaleas are found tucked in by a stream in the woods then further along, bordering the trail. The sunlight splashes on the petals, causing me to pause and admire.
